FAQs

What happens if I want to return an item I’ve purchased?

We do accept returns within 14 days of purchase.

Some of our items for sale are new, but most of them are pre-loved and will show signs of wear (which is why we love them) We do try to list any defects in the descriptions and also keep our prices low to help them find a new home, so please be aware of this before making your purchases.

Do you provide a pre-paid envelope for sending stock in?

I’m afraid we don’t supply bags or postage costs, but we would love to receive your stock. As a small charity we are unable to cover the additional costs. We  recommend using recycled packaging and second class post to save on your costs. We do promise that we will do our very best to sell your items for you and raise as much as we can for you and North Devon Against Domestic Abuse.

What items are best sellers?

We have found when selling pre-loved on a share basis that items need to have a re-sale value of over £30 in order to cover the admin costs and fees and share the profits with the seller. This means that we can’t sell many of the High Street brands, even though we used to in our charity shops. Items that sell well are higher value items like well made dresses that are wearable but look fantastic, coats in great condition and tops that have some pizazz. In our experience, trousers, skirts and shoes don’t sell as well, but if they are a good designer make, they will find a buyer.

Which labels do you accept?

Generally, we are looking for high end High Street fashion pieces (such as Jigsaw, Reiss, Toast, Anthropologie, All Saints, Hobbs up to Whistles, Joseph, and beyond...) We love interesting one off pieces, and vintage from any era. It’s difficult to be absolute, but if it’s well-made and has something special about it, we will do our best to sell it.

Where does the money raised go?

After the costs of running the shop, all profits go to North Devon Against Domestic Abuse to help keep the refuge doors open, and the services provided for those that need help getting back on their feet. Our refuge homes up to eight families, and is regularly full.
